The short version
- GlassReflex does not collect, store, or send anything about what you do on your Mac.
- Your clicks and key presses are used to draw the glass, then forgotten right away.
- The app goes online for two things only: checking for updates and activating your license.
- This website counts visits without cookies.
What the app reads, and why
GlassReflex draws glass where you click and, if you turn it on, when you type. To do that, macOS asks you to allow Input Monitoring. It is the only permission GlassReflex asks for.
With it, GlassReflex reads:
- Mouse buttons: which button you pressed, released, or dragged with, and where the cursor was. This is how the glass appears under your cursor. If you turn a button off in Settings, GlassReflex stops listening to it.
- Modifier keys (⌃ ⌥ ⇧ ⌘), only while the pointer is turned on. This is how GlassReflex knows you are holding the pointer shortcut.
- Key presses, only while Keys is turned on. This is how the key you pressed appears in glass. The Keyboard style also reads when a key is released, and the brightness, volume, and media keys.
What happens to it:
- It stays in the app's memory only for the moment it takes to draw the effect.
- It is never written to disk, never logged, and never sent anywhere.
- GlassReflex keeps no history of what you type, not even a count of key presses.
- GlassReflex only listens. It cannot change, block, or create any input.
- While you type into a password field, macOS hides your keys from every app, GlassReflex included.
What the app does not do
- It does not record or capture your screen, and does not ask for Screen Recording permission.
- It does not read the contents of your windows or documents, and does not ask for Accessibility permission.
- It runs in the macOS App Sandbox, which limits what it can reach on your Mac.
- It has no analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind.
Your settings
Your settings are stored in GlassReflex's own folder on your Mac. They never leave it. If you use Export Settings, the file is saved only where you choose.
Internet
GlassReflex connects to the internet for two things:
- Checking for updates. The app asks our website whether a new version is available. The request includes the app's name and version, and nothing about your Mac. New versions are downloaded from GitHub. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
- Activating your license. When you enter your key, the app sends it to Lemon Squeezy, our license provider, together with a random installation ID the app makes up. It is not your Mac's name or serial number. The app repeats this check now and then while you are online, to see whether the key is still valid.
Like any internet request, these reach the servers involved (Cloudflare for our website, GitHub for downloads, Lemon Squeezy for licenses), and those servers see your IP address. We don't use it to identify you.
Nothing else leaves your Mac.
This website
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, where visitors come from, and which countries and browsers they use. It sets no cookies and does not follow you across other sites. We set no cookies of our own.
Buying GlassReflex
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller, under their privacy policy. They process your payment details; we never see them. From your order we receive your name, email address, country, and what you bought.
We use this only to send your license key, help you with support and refunds, and keep the records the law requires. We only email you about your purchase: no newsletters, no marketing.
Emails to support
If you write to us, we keep the conversation to help you. We can delete it when you ask.
Your rights
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@glassreflex.app. Records the law requires us to keep (such as sales records) are the exception.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the app starts to send anything new, we'll say so here before that version is released.
