Install
- Open the downloaded DMG.
- Drag GlassReflex into the Applications folder.
- Open GlassReflex from Applications. If macOS asks whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet, choose Open.
GlassReflex lives in the menu bar. Its menu turns effects on and off and opens Settings.
Allow Input Monitoring
To see your clicks and keys, GlassReflex needs one permission: Input Monitoring. It is the only one it asks for. What the app reads, and why.
- On first launch, Settings opens on the General page. Click Allow Input Monitoring…
- macOS asks for permission. In System Settings, turn GlassReflex on under Privacy & Security › Input Monitoring.
If you said no at first, the General page shows Open System Settings instead, which takes you straight to the list.
The permission is on, but nothing appears
Remove GlassReflex from the Input Monitoring list with the minus button, then add it again and turn it on. This often happens after moving the app or replacing it with a new copy.
License key
Entering your key
Right after checkout you get an email from Lemon Squeezy with your license key. Open GlassReflex Settings and paste the key in. You need the internet once, to activate it.
Moving to another Mac
One key works on two Macs at the same time. To move it, deactivate the key in Settings on the old Mac, then enter it on the new one.
If the old Mac is lost, broken, or already sold, write to us from the email you used to buy, and we'll free up the slot.
Lost your key?
Search your inbox for the email from Lemon Squeezy. If you can't find it, write to us from the email you used to buy.
Moving your settings
On the General page in Settings, Export Settings… saves your settings to a file. On the other Mac, Import Settings… loads it, and you choose which parts to bring over.

Common questions
The glass doesn't show up in my screen recording
That's on purpose: by default, clicks and keys stay out of screenshots, recordings, and screen sharing. The pointer always shows. To record clicks and keys too, open the GlassReflex menu and turn off Hide from Screenshots and Recordings.
Keys don't appear when I type a password
While you type into a password field, macOS hides your keys from every app, GlassReflex included. That's how it should be.
The glass turned into a plain ring
Low Power Mode is on. To save battery, clicks and the pointer keep only their ring, and keys get a plain fill. To keep the glass, turn off Save power in Low Power Mode on the General page in Settings.

Write to support@glassreflex.app. It helps a lot if you include:
- your macOS version and Mac model (Apple menu › About This Mac);
- the GlassReflex version;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
